Friday Night Lights, Senior Spotlight: RJ Dreger! As a team it is another game and we practice for it. As fans and family it is time to gather around and cheer on your local high school football team. The atmosphere is my favorite part of Friday nights, I am all hyped up and I just want to play football. I have been playing tackle football since 7th grade at Wilbur Creston Junior High, I also played flag football in elementary school. My favorite memory is scoring a touchdown on a fumble recovery which not many linemen get to do! Wilbur-Creston-Keller Communities, we really appreciate your support, I would hope that you would keep supporting us into the future! #FN5GL #Sweepstakes @T-Mobile

Another Wilbur-Creston-Keller Friday Night Light Tradition, the Bill Grigsby Award. Offered to a player that exhibits High Character, Dependability and Toughness! "Bill was a teacher and coach that expected high achievement in the classroom and on the football field or wrestling mat. Even more than high achievement he wanted people of character. He would not take a win or success if it sacrificed character for his team or any individual. He was a coach/person that many grown men I am sure would now recognize being influential in helping them get to be the person, employee or father that they are now. " Thank you Mr. Arland for sharing your memories of Coach Grigsby @T-Mobile, #sweepstakes #FN5GL

Friday Night Lights don't happen without many dedicated staff in the background. Meet Mr. Arland Creston and Wilbur-Creston Junior High Principal. Glenn has been one of the biggest fans of our kids for 32 years! And for those years, he has been right here, running the score clock. One thing we can be sure of, when Glenn is doing it , it is done right! Thank you Mr. Arland for being part of generations of Friday Night lights in the Wilbur Creston Keller communities! #sweepstakes @T-Mobile #FN5GL

Love for Wildcat Football Starts early! This Friday Night Lights memory from Kristin Heidenthal 'This past spring, I was at the store with my then 1st grader when she happened upon silver and blue shimmery pompoms. She was EXTACTIC! She grabbed them and enthusiastically recited the Wildcat cheer in the middle of the store. This warmed my heart; as a first grader, she was thrilled to support the high school football team! Now a 2nd grader, she is excited to attend the next home game, cheering on her Wildcats. I am certain this will be the first of many, many years of Friday Night Lights for my family. In addition, like so many other places in Rural America, local volunteers pour their hearts and their time into our youth to ensure they have opportunity and access to sports and competition. Thank you to all parents who dedicate the time, energy and resources to get kids to practice, to take them on Saturdays all across Eastern Washington, who coach, encourage and support our young people. IT IS ALWAYS A GREAT DAY TO BE A WILDCAT! @T-Mobile, #FN5GL on Saturday Mornings, #Sweepstakes

Friday Night Lights Memories! Last year, we had the honor of the incoming Ferry County Rodeo Queen, Inora Pheifer presenting the colors on horseback. It is not everywhere and definitely not common for such an amazing display of student empowered leadership at football! Just another great reason to love Friday Night Lights and the Wilbur Creston Keller Wildcats! https://fb.watch/uxwkkBT5Dx/ @T-mobile #sweepstakes #FN5GL

Friday Night Lights, Senior Spotlight: Kallen Maioho 'Friday Night Lights means the football team coming together and having fun and winning games. We come together as a team and family, playing together, with our teammates by our side. It is nice that the community comes out and supports us. We always love our support and do our best to put on a good show for our communities. I started in 5th or 6th grade. I started at Grid Kids in ACH , little kids tackle league. After that I went to Middle School and I learned a lot about football along the way. A big chunk of my whole life has been football. Named Defense All state player last year. I rushed for a touchdown, had a receiving touchdown and threw passes in Husky Stadium Even just the locker rooms were so cool there. I think last Friday I put on a pretty good show, 3 catches for TDs and 1 rushing. 134 Receiving on 3 catches, 1 rushing! Last year, I had 1004 yards last year throwing, In total I had 2000 Yards! To the community, Thank you for being there Friday Nights. At Husky Stadium we had a great chunk of our community there. It is so fun to know there will be a fan base to cheer us on! @T-Mobile, #sweepstakes #FN5GL

Friday Night Lights, Senior Spotlight: Treven Houston 'Started playing when I was a freshman, I did not play much that year, but as a sophomore I started on offense and defense and been starting ever since. Senior year and I get to play with my brother, a freshman, It is the first time to do stuff together athletically in Football. There is a lot of energy and adrenaline at game time, it is a good feeling, everyone is watching. Dad is one of the biggest fans. Playing in the state championship game at UW last year was such a great memory. It was tough not to come out with a win but it was such a great time. I like my teammates, they are all my friends and we are all in it together. Thank you to the WCK community for the continued support we get to play football, but do it for you!' Not just a student but works for dad on the farm and started his own hay company. No time off for Treven, weekends are working and when you see him leave one field, he’s probably heading to another. @T-Mobile #sweepstakes #FN5GL

A little History about Emerson Park thank you to the Llewellyn Family for the information. @T-mobile #Sweepstakes #FN5GL In small-town America, traditions like Friday Night Lights don’t happen without hundreds, if not thousands, of volunteers who have a vision and complete that vision in their “spare time.” Wilbur Creston High School is no different. What went from a former sawmill site to a football field and adjoining athletic fields today happened just that way with lots of volunteers! In 1977-1978, a few parents and community members saw the possibility of making the sawmill area at the entrance to Wilbur into a new football field and other athletic fields. They were not a formally organized group; they just knew they wanted to use the land to improve the athletic possibilities for the kids of the community. After much planning, the work began! A football field and track, baseball and softball fields, a concession stand, lights for the football field, a maintenance shed (which for many years also served as a half-time place for the home team), and this year a completed locker room building for both the home team and visiting team, complete with showers—all have evolved over time from the vision of the original volunteers many years ago. In 2001, a group of parents and supporters formally organized as the Wildcat Booster Club to financially support and add to the vision of the Wildcats from the three communities of Wilbur, Creston, and Keller. Funds from an annual auction provide the funds for upkeep, new projects, uniforms, and referees. Who are these members of the Wildcat Booster Club? Yes, they are parents, community members, and alumni who all VOLUNTEER their time to see that students in the Wilbur and Creston School Districts continue to participate in activities and make memories. So the story continues in these three rural communities: volunteerism has become the key to making both small and large scale projects a reality. The Wildcat Booster Club, along with the Wilbur Lions Club and other organizations in these communities, has encouraged “giving back” to help both small projects and projects as large as Emerson Park. The vision of Emerson Park was the beginning, and volunteers through many organizations have continued to move that vision forward. So, when the lights go up on Metcalf Field at Emerson Park for the Wildcats’ first game of the season, both the home and visiting teams will run on the field from the new locker room building, the latest addition to Emerson Park, for a true Friday Night Lights experience! Go, CATS!

Friday Night Lights, Senior Spotlight: Preston Michel 'Football is a way to get away from it all. It is a different place and different ‘time’ with my brothers out there. A place for me to just compete in a different way and to grow and do things. I love my team and would do anything for them, for us all. The game has meaning for me on Friday Nights. It is something to push for, it is something to achieve for and prepare for. Friday Nights started for me as a Junior High player at WCK Junior High in 8th grade. I have been loving it and playing ever since. I have been blessed and had a lot of success in this game I love, along the way, I have 4325 yards rushing and 96 touchdowns. I was awarded All state status as a RB in 9th grade and Linebacker All State in 11th. I would love the WCK community to know that we all have dedicated so much to this team and it is like a family, we have dedicated so much to the community that we represent through athletics. Come out and celebrate with us!” Preston Michel @T-Mobile #Sweepstakes #FN5GL

Coach Peyton! A transplant from South Carolina, Peyton moved here to the Creston and Wilbur area prior to 8th grade. Instantly he joined our sports programs and excelled at football, basketball and baseball. Moving into High School as a freshman there was playing time for him and a start against Kettle Falls, sophomore through senior year, Quarterback, Tight End and Linebacker positions were the job for Friday Nights! Peyton began volunteering with our football team as a volunteer coach in his first year of college. After that time, he has joined our school district as an employee working with young students that have disabilities and coaching Football and Baseball! There is a legacy of excellence and gratitude from this great young man. "I love the small community feel, and how sports bring us all together, there is so much Wildcat Pride, and only so many minutes to be on the field. We have to make the most of every second." @T-mobile #FN5GL #Sweepstakes

Remember Friday Night Lights are moved to Thursday this week! 7 PM at Emerson Park. Last week in Springdale, these seniors were either the motor that charged the offense or the folks responsible to move the ball down the field. In all we scored 10 times and got all our 2 pt Conversions. Final Score 80-20. Our boys are looking forward to showing you what they can do in our Home opener this week! @T-mobile #Sweepstakes #FN5GL (on thursday)! It is always a great day to be a Wildcat where each Wildcat Belongs Learns and Thrives!
