This week was Classified Appreciation Week!! The Creston Certified decided on a "Champions" theme this year and each day had a designated subcategory to honor our classified "Champions". Our amazing volunteer, Deb Peha, gave each staff member a "job title" and "trophy" that represented their title. (You REALLy have to take a look at these!!)
We show our love through food so our staff made yummy treats all week. Each day celebrating a different "champion". From "The Stanley Cup" to the "Soup-er Bowl" we celebrated our champions and all of their hard work!
We couldn't do it without our amazing classified staff!!

The Creston 5th & 6th graders have spent the last several weeks studying Structure and Function in science. During their studies, they have been learning about cells, cell division, cell differentiation, body systems, and adaptations.
Yesterday they were able to begin their exploration of body systems through the dissection of bullfrogs. The students were so excited and interested in discovering and exploring similarities and differences in traits that frogs have in relation to the human body.

After verifying State information, we are proud to celebrate that Heather and Lillian are the first in WCK Girls Wrestling HISTORY to medal at WIAA Mat Classic State Wrestling. A little history of the sport: Girls wrestling became a sanctioned sport in WA state in 2007, when the first state championship was held. WA was the third state to sanction a statewide championship for girls wrestling. It is one of the fastest growing high school sports in Washington! The WCK has been slowing growing over the years and with the years of experience from Pete Wyborney this year, the ladies brought home the hardware! Pete has been a wrestler from his early years in the Wilbur Schools and later on coached Little Guy Wrestling along side Larry Krause, Justin Peasley, and several other dedicated dads of the sport! And this year, we were blessed to have him be our high school girls wrestling coach. And to top it all off, he was voted on by the coaches of the girls wrestling teams in district 6 as the coach of the year! Congrats to Heather and Lillian for making Wildcat history and to Coach Pete for District 6 Wrestling Coach of the year!
