The Wilbur Creston School District will be hosting actors from the Oregon Shakespeare Festival next Wednesday, October 30th for students in grades 7-12.
There will be interactive workshops, performances from Shakespeare and other classical and contemporary literature. The school visit program is part of the Festival's ongoing commitment to bring live theatre to students. Relaunching after a pandemic hiatus, the program has reached hundreds of thousands of students in its more than 50 year history.
The 2024 school visit program is funded by generous grants from the STARSEED Foundation, Steven and Karen Tyler, Swigert Foundation, Ronald W. Naito M.D. Foundation, and the Round House Foundation.
The School Visit Program’s overall goal is to acquaint students with live theatre and, in particular, to demystify Shakespeare by making his works accessible.
This year, OSF is sending out two teams to 54 schools and organization. They will travel from Northern Washington to Southern California, working with students in Oregon, Washington, California, and Idaho.
