🎉 We are beyond excited to announce that school will begin on Monday, September 14th, in our OWN buildings! 🎉
We want to thank our board members and school administration for their hard work in developing the School Start-Up Contingency Plan. We are thrilled to share that we will NOT need to implement the contingency plan to begin the school year!
With that being said, here is the latest information:
Electrical permits and inspections have been approved by L&I.
A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy has been approved by the Town of Wilbur.
A Fire Watch Plan will be implemented.
Construction at Wilbur Schools will continue after students leave for the day, but during school hours, our buildings will provide a safe and secure learning environment for our students and staff.
It has been a long road getting to this point, and we are incredibly excited to finally welcome our students back!
A heartfelt thank you to our Wilbur, Creston, and Keller communities for your patience, understanding, and flexibility over the past couple of weeks as we navigated an ever-changing situation with our construction at Wilbur Schools.

Following approval at tonight’s Special Joint Board Meeting, the final details regarding the School Start-Up Contingency Plan will be finalized and released tomorrow.
This information will include:
• Transportation and busing details
• Locations of classes
• School schedules
• Other important information families will need for Monday
We are still anticipating approval of occupancy for the Wilbur School buildings. As those final details and approvals are received, we will provide updated information to our families and communities tomorrow.

I regret to inform you that we are forced to delay the start of school to September 14, 2026. The necessary progress and inspections have not occurred to ensure that the school will be allowed occupancy on Sept 8th.
We are very sorry for the inconveniences that may be caused by this delay and are attempting to give you information as soon as it is available.
The decision was made at 4:00 PM on Wednesday, September 2.
Wilbur and Creston School District work together in a powerful way as a Cooperative and it is a very honoring thing to be in this together for all of our kids.
